Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain, about two-one-hundredths of an inch thick, that are bonded to the fronts of your teeth to give you an entirely new smile. If you’re unhappy with the color or shape of your teeth, you could be a candidate for porcelain veneers.
Here are before and after photographs that illustrate what porcelain veneers can do. With these thin shells of porcelain, Dawanna’s intense brown tetracycline stains have been masked and she has been given a beautiful smile. This work was done by Dr. Malone and his master ceramist, Mike Bellarino.
Notice that in addition to masking the color, Dawanna’s smile has been evened out and the shapes of her teeth have been made more pleasing. And also notice how much more relaxed her smile is in the “after” picture. We see this frequently when people have problems with their smile finally corrected. Smiling used to be difficult for them, but now they are proud to show their beautiful teeth and they have a relaxed confidence in their smile.
Dr. Mike Malone and his laboratory ceramist, Mike Bellarino, both have international reputations for the beauty of their work. Dr. Malone is the only accredited cosmetic dentist in Lafayette, and is a past president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He lectures extensively to other dentists, teaching them cosmetic dentistry techniques. Mike Bellarino is also accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry for his beautiful ceramic work.
